FAQ

Dose dispensing machine/Oral solid

Q
The power does not turn on even if the power switch is set to ON.

A
The emergency stop button may have been pressed. Check the emergency stop button, and if it is in the
pressed position, release the button and then turn on the power again.

Q
While the machine is running, it suddenly goes offline and
does not respond to instructions from the computer.

A
There may be a problem with the LAN cable connection between the tablet packing machine and the computer. Make sure the cable is not disconnected.

Q
The feeder base on which the tablet cassette is placed is
flashing red.

A
When the tablet cassette is placed on the wrong feeder base, the feeder base flashes red to notify incorrect insertion. If no cassette has been placed on the flashing feeder base or if the red flashing light does not stop even after the cassette has been set correctly, the feeder base may be faulty and you should contact our support or sales representative.

Q
Can alcohol be used to clean the machine?

A
No, please do not use alcohol or other chemicals to clean the machine. Instead, please wipe it clean with a cloth.

Q
The tablet cassette is filled with medicines, but no tablets
are being dispensed.

A
Jamming may have occurred due to overfilling with tablets or contamination inside the cassette. Reduce the amount of tablets, clean the cassette, etc., and try again to dispense the product.

Q
Certain tablets end up in the wrong package or damaged.

A
Depending on their shape, there are some tablets that are prone to chipping (e.g. OD tablets, bare tablets, etc.) or bouncing around in the machine due to their small size, and may not be packaged correctly. By placing cassettes containing tablets of such shapes on the lower shelf, chipping and bouncing can be reduced.

Q
Recently, the packing speed has suddenly slowed down.

A
Frequent cleaning of the machine is recommended because dirty tablet drop paths and cassettes may affect the speed of dispensing. If the problem persists after cleaning, the machine may need to be inspected, so please contact our support or sales representative.

Q
When manually filling the cells of a manual filling tray
(conveyor) with tablets "twice a day, morning and evening(no noon)", is it necessary to leave one cell empty for the afternoon?

A
There is no need to leave an empty cell for noon. Just fill the morning and evening cells in succession.

Q
The ink ribbon comes out with the packing paper.

A
If the ink ribbon is not inserted all the way into the ribbon cassette, the ribbon may be loosely wound and cause problems. Make sure that the ink ribbon is installed all the way inside the ribbon cassette.

Q
The display of the temperature controller of the heater
shows "UUUUU."

A
"UUUUU" is displayed when the thermocouple
(temperature sensor composed of two kinds of metal
conductors) in the machine is disconnected. Repair is required, so please contact our support or sales representative.

Q
There is no color-coded marker on the packing paper.

A
Check if the marker button on the touch panel is set to ON. If it is set to ON but no marker is applied, the ink may have run out (or the pen may have dried out). Check the condition of the marker unit pen and replace it with a new one if needed.

Dose dispensing machine/Powder

Q
What is the maximum number of grams of powdered
medicine that can be packed per package?

A
The maximum number of grams of powdered medicine that can be packed per package is between about 2.5 grams and 3 grams.

Q
What is the minimum number of grams of powdered
medicine that can be packed per package?

A
The minimum number of grams of powdered medicine that can be packed per package is between about 0.5 grams.

Q
The medicine is not placed properly inside the packing
paper or spills outside the packing paper.

A
If the packing paper is not set correctly, the mouth of the
bag will not open properly and medicine may spill outside
the packing paper. Make sure that the packing paper is properly inserted in the claws of the upper and lower hoppers.

Q
Even when powder medicine is input, it does not flow. (The feeder at the feed port does not vibrate.)

A
It is possible that the breaker for the feeder at the powder medicine feed port, which vibrates to distribute the
powder medicine, has tripped. Check the breaker.

Q
The suction of the hand cleaner is weak.

A
The filter may be clogged. Replace the filter with a new one.

Q
A line of white medicine adheres to the R disk, which is the
distribution route of powdered medicine.

A
This symptom occurs when the disk plate or scraper claws are worn, so parts need to be replaced. Please contact our support or sales representative.

Q
Powder remains in the powder medicine flow path (feeder
trough, upper and lower hoppers, etc.).

A
During periods of dryness such as autumn and winter, when static electricity is more likely to occur, if the humidity around the machine drops too low, static electricity will also be generated inside the machine, making it easier for powder to stick. Sticking can be reduced by humidifying the room where the packing machine is installed to increase the humidity.

Q
Is it okay to wash the input hopper with detergent?

A
Since it is made of ABS resin with excellent strength, you can use a commercially available neutral detergent or oxygen bleach, but avoid using chlorine bleach. Also, avoid using a dryer or pressure washer, as high heat may deform the product.

Repair is required, so please contact our support or sales
representative.

Q
There is no color-coded marker on the packing paper.

A
Check if the marker button on the touch panel is set to ON. If it is set to ON but no marker is applied, the ink may have run out (or the pen may have dried out). Check the condition of the marker unit pen and replace it with a new one if needed.

Automatic injection drug dispensing systems

Q
The machine won't turn on.

A
First, make sure that the main power is on. If the main power is on but the power does not turn on, the emergency stop button may have been pressed. There is an emergency stop button on each unit, and if even one of them is pressed, the power will not turn on. Check the emergency stop buttons on all units and, if pressed, rotate the button clockwise to release it. Then turn the main power on again.

Q
The power is turned on, but the control touch panel does
not activate.

A
Check the color of the power LED at the lower right of the control touch panel. Blue is the normal state when the touch panel is activated. If the color is orange, the touch panel is not activated. If the color is orange, turn the main power off and then back on again.

Q
The main power is off, but the control touch panel is still
on.

A
Since there is an error in the interlocking of the machine
main unit and the control touch panel, first shut down the
control touch panel and check that the power LED at the bottom right of the panel turns orange. After that, turn the main power on again to correct the interlocking error.

Q
The indication "In test mode" is still showing.

A
Press the [c] button on the N4Main screen of the control
touch panel to check which units are in test mode. If the unit in test mode is "Empty/Completed Tray Unit", set the right side of the manual switch to "Automatic" and the left side to "OFF". For other units, press [TOP] or [Back] on the touch panel attached to the unit.

Q
The machine is running, but is not accepting prescription
data.

A
There is the possibility that the "ALPHA-Wave" application, required to receive prescription data, is not running, so restart the computer on which ALPHA-Wave is installed. After confirming that ALPHA-Wave has started, if the setting is "Automatic", leave it as it is, and if it is set to "Manual", select the prescription data and send it. Also, if the "SEQ" value displayed on the N4Main screen of the control touch panel exceeds 30,000, new prescription data cannot be received, so execute "Clear SEQ".

Q
The contents displayed on the tray display unit are
different from the actual contents of the tray.

A
The correct way to insert the tray is to set it with the indicator on the left side, but if it is set in the opposite direction (indicator on the right side), the indicator will not be able to read the contents of the new prescription data and will still display the past data. This is the cause of the difference between the displayed contents and the actual contents. If a discrepancy occurs, an error message will be displayed on the touch panel, but it cannot be corrected after dispensing, so first clear the error on the panel and then proceed with the operation.

Q
A medicine that differs from the prescription data was found.

A
Check that the cassette number data in the medicine master (TOSMMR) has been entered correctly. If the cassette number is correct, "Feeder Settings" or
"Drawer Settings" in the ALPHA-Wave application may be incorrect. Check if the settings are correct.

Q
Medicines jam up during operation or come out damaged.

A
The cassette content may exceed the limit. Check the amount and reduce it if it is excessive. Also, if the size of the cassette and the medicines placed in it do not match (or do not match anymore due to a change in the shape of the medicines, etc.), jamming or damage may occur.

Q
A paper size error occurs when printing injection
prescriptions.

A
When refilling the injection prescription printer unit with
paper, you may have changed the paper size in the tray. Set the correct paper size and try again.

Q
Forms (labels, injection prescriptions, etc.) do not come
out.

A
Check the power to the printers in the printer unit, and if they are offline, press the online buttons. If the printers do not print even after they have been turned online, make sure that the paper that you want to print on, such as for labels, is loaded correctly in each printer and that the printers are not out of paper.
